  • GENERAL INFORMATION:

The 3rd EduSport Trophy will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2018, the ISU Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Figure Skating as well as pertinent ISU Communications.

 

Participation in the 3rd  EduSport Trophy is open to all competitors who belong to an ISU Member and qualify with regard to eligibility, according to Rule 102, provided their ages fall within the limits specified in Rule 108, paragraph 3 a and they meet the participation, citizenship and residency requirements in Rule 109, paragraphs 1 through 5 and ISU Communication  2030 or any update of this Communication.

 

In accordance with Rule 109 of the ISU General Regulations and ISU Communication 2030 all Skaters who do not have the nationality of the Member by which they have been entered or who, although having such nationality, have in the past represented another Member, must produce an ISU Clearance Certificate.

 

The organizing committee has the right and obligation to check the personal identification documents of the athletes to determine whether they are allowed to compete, whether they are competing in the right category, etc. Without the documents, the athlete will be excluded from the competition.

  • TECHNICAL DATA:

Place of the competition: TIRIAC Telekom Arena Ice Rink –Drumul Garii Odai st., Bucharest – Otopeni.

Rink is indoor with a surface of 60 x 30 meters, air conditioned, heated changing rooms, located near the center of Otopeni, close to the Henri Coanda Airport.

  • CATEGORIES:

 

SENIOR LADIES Short Program: 2 min 40 sec. +/- 10 sec.

Requirements according to the ISU Technical Rules Single and Pair Skating 2018, Art.611 and the respective ISU Communication.

Free Skating: 4 min, +/- 10 sec

In accordance with ISU Technical Rules Single and Pair Skating 2018, Art.612 and the respective ISU Communication. Special attention should be paid to the “well balanced program” and the element values.

SENIOR MEN Short Program: 2 min 40 sec. +/- 10 sec.

Requirements according to the ISU Technical Rules Single and Pair Skating 2018 and the respective ISU Communication .

Free Skating: 4 min, +/- 10 sec

In accordance with ISU Technical Rules Single and Pair Skating 201 8, Art. 612 and the respective ISU Communication. Special attention should be paid to the “well balanced program” and the element values.

JUNIOR LADIES Short Program: 2 min 40 sec +/- 10 sec.

Requirements according to the ISU Technical Rules Single and Pair Skating 2018, Art.611 and the respective ISU Communication.

Free Skating: 3 min 30 sec, +/- 10 sec

In  accordance  with ISU Technical  Rules Single and Pair  Skating 2018, Art. 612 and  the respective ISU Communication.  Special attention should be paid to  the “well balanced program” and the element values.

JUNIOR MEN Short Program: 2 min 40 sec +/- 10 sec

CUBS BOYS & GIRLS Age requirements: Skater is born between 1.7.2008 – 30.6.2010

Free Skating: 2 min. 00 sec. +/- 10 sec.

A well balanced Free Skating program for CUBS must contain:

  1. Maximum of four (4) jump elements for Girls and Boys, one of which must be an Axel type jump. There may be up to two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Jump combination can contain only two(2) jumps. A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump. Any single or double jump (including Double Axel) cannot be executed more than twice in total. Triple jumps are not permitted.
  1. There must be a maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (abbreviation), one of which must be a spin combination with or without change of foot (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total) and one spin with no change of position and with or without change of foot (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total). Flying entry is allowed.
  1. There must be a maximum:

(i) for Girls one (1) Choreographic sequence which includes at least one (1) spiral position at least (3)seconds long. The sequence will have a fixed Base value and evaluated in GOE only.

    1. for Boys maximum of one (1) step sequence without Level value. The sequence will have a fixed Base value and evaluated in GOE only.

LEVELS EXPLANATIONS:

For Cubs in all elements which are subject to levels, only features up to level 2 will be counted. Any additional features will not count for Level requirements and will be ignored by the Technical panel.

FALLS DEDUCTIONS 0,50 for each!

CHICKS BOYS & GIRLS Age requirements: Skater is born after 1.7.2010

Calculation of scores: according to the new ISU Judging System

The Program Components are judged only in:

  • Skating Skills
  • Performance/Execution
  • Interpretation

 

Requirements for all age groups:

The programs can be interpretative. Different portable or stationary tools and accessories – e.g.: hat, walking stick, shawl – is allowed during the program, if it doesn’t disturb the performer and its soundness.

The music can be even vocal, but with appropriate lyrics.

Exceeding the limit of the music is followed by 1 point deduction per 5 sec.

Failing: 0,5 point penalty

NON-ISU Recreational and Adult Single Advanced categories A competitor in the Recreational and Adult Advanced Free Skating event must perform a well-balanced program that may contain:

  1. Maximum of four (4) jump elements for Girls and Boys, one of which must be an Axel type jump. There may be up to two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Jump combination can contain only two(2) jumps. A jump sequence consists of 2 (two) jumps of any number of revolutions, beginning with any listed jump, immediately followed by an Axel type jump with a direct step from the landing curve of the first jump to the take-off curve of the Axel jump. Any single or double jump (including Double Axel) cannot be executed more than twice in total. Triple jumps are not permitted.
  1. There must be a maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (abbreviation), one of which must be a spin combination with or without change of foot (minimum two (2) revolution per position and minimum of six (6) revolutions in total) and one spin with no change of position and with or without change of foot (minimum of six (6) revolutions in total). Flying entry is allowed.
  1. A maximum of one (1) choreographic sequence (ChSq) which must includes a variety of steps and 2 (two) spiral position with at least (3)seconds long each. A Choreographic Sequence consists of any kind of movements like steps, turns, spirals, arabesques, spread eagles, Ina Bauers, spinning movements, etc. The Sequence commences with the first move and is concluded with the last move of the Skater. The pattern is not restricted, but must utilize the half ice surface. A Choreographic Sequence has a base value and will be evaluated by the judges in GOE only. The first visible attempt to execute a choreographic sequence will be contributed to the technical score.

Factor: The panels points for the three judged Program Components (Skating Skills, Performance/Execution,  Interpretation) are multiplied by a factor of 1.6

Levels explanations:

For Recreational and Adult Advanced category, in all elements, which are subject to Levels, only features up to Level 2 will be counted.

Any additional features will not be counted for Level requirements and will be ignored by the Technical Panel.

NON-ISU Recreational and Adult Single Basic categories A well balanced Free Skating program must contain:

  1. A maximum of four (4) jump elements. Only single jumps are permitted, no Axel type jump, no double or triple jumps can be included. There may be up to two (2) jump combinations or sequences. Jump combination    can contain    only    two(2)    jumps. A jump sequence may consist of any number of single jumps, however, only the two jumps with the highest value will be counted.  Any jump cannot be executed more than twice in total.
  2. There must be a maximum of two (2) spins of a different nature (abbreviation) with change of foot (minimum 2 rotation per position, minimum 6 rotation in total)  or without change of foot minimum of six (6) revolutions in total). Combo spin is allowed. Flying spin is not permitted.
  3. A maximum of one (1) choreographic sequence (ChSq) which includes at least one (1) spiral position at least (3)seconds long and steps. A Choreographic Sequence consists of any kind of movements like steps, turns, spirals, arabesques, spread eagles, Ina Bauers, spinning movements, etc. The Sequence commences with the first move and is concluded with the last move of the Skater.   • ENTRIES of COMPETITORS:

All ISU members and clubs, which are members of National Figure Skating Federations associated with ISU, are invited to take part at the competition.

Competitors from categories  Seniors, Juniors, Advanced Novices must be entered through their Member Federation, which are members of National Figure Skating Federations, associated with the ISU.

Entries for Novice Basic and Intermediate, Cubs and Chicks, Adult and recreational category can be entered also by clubs, which are members of National Figure Skating Federations, associated with the ISU.

For Adult and Recreational categories, the O.C. will not accept as entry any sportsman that also participates in ISU sanctioned competition in 2018-2019 season.

In case of too many entries, the organizer reserves the right to limit the number of participants.

Also, in case of too many entries, the organizer reserves the right to split the Novice Intermediate, Novice Basic, Cubs and/or Chicks category by ages.

It is mandatory that the Program Content Sheet will be filled precisely by each Skater in English using terminology for the elements listed in the respective ISU Communication. It is not permitted to hand over the Program Content Sheets directly to the acting Officials.

Deadline for entries: The entry forms and  the “Program Content Sheet” for all categories must be sent to the Organizing Committee before December 21th 2018 by email at:  edusporttrophy@gmail.com .

All the entries received starting with 22th  of December it will be considered as late entries.

Participating teams must announce changes in their teams immediately after their arrival.

  • CANCELLATION:

Cancellation of the competitor entry, if any, has to be done till January 2, 2019  with e-mail to organizer. For any latter cancellation the Federation or Club will be asked to pay the entry fee.

  • ENTRIES of TEAM OFFICIALS

Official entries of Team Leaders, Team Officials, Coaches/Choreographers, Team Medical staff etc. must be made together with the entries for Competitors and Judges. The names of such Team Officials must be listed on the official Form “Composition of Delegation”.

  • JUDGES:

Each ISU Member participating on the competition may enter one International or ISU Judge.  Nomination for Judge and substitute Judge must be sent along with the entry forms for competitors. The official entry form for Judges must reach the Organizing Committee, not later December 21, 2018.

The Panels will be drawn immediately after the closing of entries. The members concerned will be notified of the result of the draw.

Each panel of Judges in Seniors, Juniors and Advanced Novices categories will consist of 5 Judges and 3 judges in younger categories, Adult and recreational categories.

The Organizer covers the travel and accommodation expenses with full board only for the invited Referees, Judges, nominated Technical Controllers and Technical Specialists, Data and Replay Operators, beginning with dinner on 09 January until breakfast  on 13 January, 2019.

Expenses for accommodation and meals for Competitors and other Team officials will not be covered by the organizer.

  • ENTRY FEE:

EUR 65 /skater – Senior, Junior, Novice Advanced

EUR 55/skater – Novice Intermediate, Novice Basic, Cubs, Chicks, Adult and Recreational

Payment shall be made by bank transfer or cash at the Organizing Committee, until December 21, 2018.


For any latte entries (starting with December 22th) the entry fees are:

EUR 70/skater – Novice Intermediate, Novice Basic, Cubs, Chicks, Adult and Recreational

 

The entry fee will not be refunded in case of withdrawals for any reason.

  • CALCULATION OF THE RESULTS:

Results for all categories will be calculated using the new ISU Judging System. For the results and any additional information you can access  www.edusporttrophy.org and www.frponline.ro.

  • MUSIC:

Each competitor must deliver a CD with her/his program music(s) to the Organizing Committee Office immediately after arrival. Music will be reproduced on Compact Disc – CD. In accordance with Rule 343, paragraph 1, all discs must show the Competition event, Competitor’s name, the Nation and the exact running time of the music (not skating time) including any starting signal and must be submitted at the time of registration. Each program (short program, free skating) must be recorded on a separate disc.

  • INSURANCE / LIABILITY

In accordance with Rule 119, it is the sole responsibility of each Member participating in the 3rd  EduSport Trophy, to provide medical and accident insurance for their athletes, officials and all other members of the Member’s team. Such insurance must assure full medical attendance and also the return of the ill or injured person to the home country by air transport or by other expeditious means. It is an internal matter of each ISU Member to decide the issue who shall pay the premium for such insurance.

The Organizer assumes no responsibility for or liability with respect to bodily or personal injury or property damage in connection incurred by Competitors and Officials.

The Organizing Committee will provide medical emergency aid during competition.

  • ACCREDITATION:

The accreditation will start on January 09, 2019 at the TIRIAC – Telekom Arena Rink.

In accordance with the ISU Directive please note that at the time of registration (Entry fee, music, hotel arrangements) we have to copy and file the passport of the Skaters.

  • DRAW:
    The exact place and time will be published in the official detailed schedule.

Please be informed that only those competitors whose entry fee arrived until the time of the draw, will be drawn for the competition.

Starting orders for the second segment  for Advanced Novice, Juniors and Seniors will be the reverse order of the results of the short programs in accordance with RULE 513, paragraph  2, i.

 

  • AWARDING

The winners of every category will receive the medals and diplomas. All competitors will receive diplomas.

  • ACCOMMODATION:

All participants except Technical panel members and Judges panels must cover their accommodation expenses by themselves.

In order to book the accommodation at special event prices, the reservation must be booked and  paid by each member or club only through Organizing Committee.

The payment for accommodation shall be made by bank transfer until December 21, 2018.

The Organizer can guarantee and provide you accommodation only after receiving 100% of total payment for accommodation until December 21, 2018  In case of cancelation, we will return the payment for accommodation after we will apply a cancelation fee equal to the price for 1 night/type of room.

Each member and club itself regulates the transport to and from Romania for their own account. Organizing Committee will provide transportation from/to Otopeni Airport  to/from official hotel. The transportation fee is 5 € per person/one way.

  • PROGRAM SCHEDULE – STARTING TIMES

Please, be informed that in the event schedule may occur changes due to the final number of entries and some categories can be moved to other day for proper organization.

Also, only the daily starting times are fixed. Following the morning start the time schedule of the event is flexible, which means that in case of cancellations certain categories may start some time earlier than in the Preliminary/Final Schedule.

The timetable, results and other information will be announced on the official site of the competition  www.edusporttrophy.org, www.frponline.ro  and on the information board in the ice rink.
